Current-pulse generators, built with thyratron and secondary-emission tubes, for powering semiconductor lasers are described; step-down transformer makes it possible to obtain current pulse of up to 100 to 150 amp with rise time of 3 to 5 nsec at load of 0.2 to 0.5 ohm.
