Building foundation sunk into place
In constructing large building of trapezoidal shape in Japan, contractor poured entire concrete substructure as unit above ground, enclosing more than one acre, and then sank it into place in same manner as caisson; substructure weighing 25,000 tons incorporates four basements, 60 ft deep; method has been patented by T.KOUMOTEN.
