Toxicity measurements in activated sludge
Toxicity measurements in activated sludge show that Michaelis-Menten theory and theory of enzyme inhibition reveal reproducible data on toxicity, and that toxicity consists of competitive and noncompetitive inhibition; effect of pH is noncompetitive inhibition; increasing sludge age finally results in pure competitive inhibition or noncompetitive inhibition, depending on nature of toxic material; this can be proved with copper-sulfate and hexavalent chromium.
