In laboratory tests cylinders of 22.5 cm diam were produced by using concrete composed according to concrete road specifications with different aggregates and surface textures; cylinders were mounted on polishing machine with rotating rubber rollers; skid-resistance was measured by coefficient of sliding friction; most favorable coefficient of sliding friction yielded deep fine groove with opening of approximately 2.5 mm width.
