Protective measures against silting of storage basin of Massa hydroelectric scheme, to protect reservoir of Massa hydro-electric scheme against enormous bulk of solid deposits carried down by alpine torrent which stems from largest glacier in Switzerland; solution chosen involved special measures for security which led to selection of special arrangement described; provisions have been made for specially thick and resistant steel-lining for flushing outlets, to withstand impact of enormous volume of deposits to be evacuated.
