Stability of rubble-Mound Tsunami Barrier Hilo Harbor, Hawaii
Six series of tests were conducted on 1:50-scale models of rubble-mound barrier trunk sections to obtain design criteria for rehabilitation of existing barrier and construction of new one at harbor; model test sections were subjected to attack of tsunamis and short-period waves; proposed designs involved overtopping and nonovertopping barrier sections with protective cover layers of quarrystones and tribars.
