Technology for producing chemically capped steel
Capping 8 ton ingots of O8 and St3 steels with aluminum has enabled ingot top discard to be reduced to 3%, while quality of metal was improved; crushed ferrosilicon has proved to be less suitable in steelworks conditions. (see also English translation in Stal in English n 11 Nov 1962 p 855-7)
