Unique design for Winnipeg storm flood relief sewer project
Unique design procedures followed for storm sewer system in Manitoba, Canada, included determination of runoff coefficients for various areas of sewer district, rainfall intensity and required relief capacities; overflow structures were located where required on existing sewers and relief sewers designed to carry flow to outfall structure; sewers exceeding 48 in. in diam are constructed as concrete-lined tunnels, and smaller sizes are pipe sewers.
