Influence of voids, bitumen and filler contents on permeability of sand-asphalt mixtures
Study to ascertain experimentally validity of Darcy's law for water flow through sand asphalt mixtures and establish relationship between coefficient of permeability and physical properties of mixtures; mixtures were prepared with various amounts of bitumen and filler and relationship of these contents to that of air voids was established using Marshall method of compaction; rate of distilled and de-aired water flow through mixtures was measured with specially constructed variable high head permeameter.
