Description of method used for installing impervious wall in embankment, carried out by Morrison-Knudsen Co, at 50-yr old Almanor Dam north of Sacramento, Calif; cutoff wall was built by driving sheet piles and sealing interlocks with chemical AM-9; this is unusual chemical which behaves like water during placement but which turns suddenly into tough gelatin; typical grout mix, operations and equipment are described.
