Development consists of comparatively low dam above Grande Chute; power house in gorge near foot of rapids below Chute Platte, and 13-ft. diameter tunnel which connects intake and power house, about 4000 ft. apart; details of impounding dam; power house contains two 11,200 hp. I. P. Morris turbines driving 10,000-kva., 6600-volt, 3-phase, 60-cycle Westinghouse generators; turbines are Francis type.
