Siting, design and construction of two terminals for large oil tankers
Construction of 2 deep-water terminals for large oil tankers at Angle Bay, Milford Haven, England, and in Khor al Amaya, in gulf south of Basrah; one terminal is situated on rock and other in soft silt; reasons for selections of sites, details of preliminary investigations and description of method adopted in case of Khor al Amaya terminal for overcoming risk of sudden storms interrupting operation and possibly causing damage to works during earlier stages of construction are given.
