Describes shifting mains to temporary bridge in 1922 and construction work after 1924 to reach, and cross on, new bridge; tunneling; " Victaulic" joints, in four segments made of steel alloy and are ductile; no need to make special provision for pipes to conform to camber of bridge, for joints are sufficiently flexible to permit of this being done automatically.
