Prevention and cure of dampness in buildings and monuments
Author describes how harmful effects of damp in buildings may be prevented or cured by use of Knapen system which depends upon interception of moisture and its removal by evaporation, and consists in use of cylindrical tubes or siphons of porous clay, introduced obliquely from below into wall structure, and open towards exterior.
