Placement and use of concrete underground
Initial cost of placing large-scale underground concrete supports has become economically competitive with placing of heavy timber and steel supports; monolithic concrete ground support is superior because it provides complete area support which allows minimum ground disturbance and hence, minimum weight and pressure; concrete is mixed above ground and transferred by line to plywood panel drift forms.
