Large all-purpose dredger "Alaska"
Dredge Alaska was built for Great Lakes Dredge and Dock Co by Todd Shipyards Corp; dimensions are 208 by 46 ft by 12 ft 6 in., normal displacement is about 2100 tons; normal dredging depth will vary from 9 to 50 ft below water level; depth of 85 ft can be reached with 100-ft ladder; 5400 bhp is available at pump; dredge is expected to dispose of up to 100,000 cu yd of material/day on short discharge lines; it will be moved by tugboat.
