Five span prestressed concrete bridge is 1100 ft long and 80 ft wide; it is founded on piles driven to average depth of 110 ft below water level; extensive land reclamation work was needed on both banks for approach road system to bridge, for fringe parking areas near city and for highway, involving 5 million cu yd of filling material; test results on nature and behavior of underlying mud are given.
