Large area wave-load meter
For prototype measurements of Haringvliet sluices in Netherlands, wave-load meter for measuring wave impacts was tested; meter consisted of large pressure cell (surface area 0.5 sq m), three small pressure transducers (surface area 132 sq mm) in its vertical axis, and one small measured wave pressures as function of pressure cell size, difference in pressure magnitude between spots lying close together, and pressure transducer response as function of support stiffness were investigated; prototype wave tests were done on Ymuiden harbor breakwater; results of measurements with big cell and small transducers were consistent.
