Dynamic distortions in structures subjected to sudden earth shock
Results of model experiments on single mass system, made in Vibration Laboratory at Stanford University, in California and theoretical analysis of behavior of elevated water tank, all subjected to sudden shock followed by harmonic vibrations, indicating that for single mass structures in near resonance condition, critical displacements can be built up before type of ground motion changes.
