On probability distribution of wave force and introduction to correlation drag coefficient and correlation inertial coefficient
Methods for predicting probability distributions of peak wave drag and inertial forces are presented; method is proposed which might be used to predict most probable maximum wave force once sea state is specified; good correlation is found between probability distributions of wave heights and of peak drag forces; if most probable maximum wave height is given from statistical distribution of wave height, then it is possible to predict most probable maximum drag, or inertial force, or combination of both.
