Analytical method is presented which utilizes hydrologic properties of aquifer underlying area, distance between drainage channels, and percolation to groundwater reservoir; this method for calculating return flows, developed by R.E.Glover, was used to determine monthly quantities of return flow in Mesilla Valley of Rio Grande Project, New Mexico-Texas; comparison of measured drainage and computed return flow showed close correlation; relatively simple digital procedures used in applying this method and satisfactory results obtainable indicate this method can be realistically used to analyze return flows from irrigation.
