Impact of computers on surveying methods
Description of "Civil Engineering Computing System" (CECS) based upon coordinate values of points; CECS is not long involved program, but is rather collection of some 65 separate programs which engineer can call into play as need arises during course of solving his problem; features of "Integrated Civil Engineering System" (ICES) developed by M.I.T. are described for third generation computers; those in surveying and mapping field must be alert to expected rapid changes and to take advantage of them when they become available.
