Plastics in archaeology -- Saving of Nubian temples in Egypt
International action, initiated by UNESCO saved Nile's flood-threatened temples; temples were sawed into 1050 blocks of 20 to 30 tons each, which were strengthened by impregnation with polyester-and epoxy-resins; steel anchors, used for hoisting blocks by cranes, were fastened with epoxy compound which was cast into holes which were drilled in blocks.
