Fracture toughness of cementitious composites
AbstractResults of an extensive experimental investigation of the fracture toughness of three distinct types of cementitious composites are presented. The composites have been chosen to represent certain extreme combinations of matrix and inclusions. The results are analysed in the light of theoretical upper and lower bounds on fracture toughness of composites proposed earlier by the authors. This investigation brings out certain novel features of fracture behaviour of composites.
