Causes of falsework collapses during construction
Abstract Major collapses of falsework during construction processes were attributed to the triggering, enabling, and procedural causes. The effects of impact and vibration during concrete pouring have often triggered the failures. Several design and construction deficiencies which existed in the components of temporary structures enabled the failures. This study shows that several procedural causes initiated the triggering and enabling causes. The survey are tabulated to serve as a guide for performance control of falsework erection in the future.
