A homogeneous building material from date palm fronds
AbstractDate palm stalks and date palm leaflets were used with certain binders to produce a variety of fibreboards. Heat insulating panels were produced from low and high density fibreboards. Hard fibreboards were produced for building internal walls and partitions. Date palm leaflet fibreboards reinforced with date palm stalks were used to build strong external walls.Analysis of this new homogeneous building material showed it to be inexpensive, lightweight, heat insulating, ductile, strong and durable.
