A model for work-hardening plasticity and failure of concrete under multiaxial stresses
AbstractA constitutive model aimed at describing the actual behaviour of concrete under multiaxial stresses, from initial yielding up to failure, is presented. The model exhibits closed surfaces for initial yielding and subsequent loading stages, whilst the failure surface is open-ended along the negative hydrostatic axis. The traces of the surfaces on any deviatoric plane are smooth and convex curves, particularly suitable for numerical applications. The results of the model show good agreement with experimental data.
