Use of titanium tetrachloride for the isolation of hetero-atomic compounds from petroleum distillates
Abstract 1. It was shown that titanium tetrachloride can be used for the isolation of hetero-atomic compounds from petroleum distillates. 2. It was found that nitrogen bases are completely separated by titanium tetrachloride. Sulphur, oxygen and aromatic compounds are present with them in the concentrates. 3. Using concentrates isolated from 340–500° vacuum gas oil it was found possible to obtain pure nitrogen bases from high boiling petroleum fractions.
