Catalytic properties of transition metal salts in the oxidation of pseudocumene
Abstract Catalytic properties of cobalt, manganese, copper and iron salts were stupied in oxidation of pseudocumene. In catalytic properties the metals occupy the order: Co>Mn>Cu>Fe. It was noted that copper and iron salts mainly cause oxidation to take place at methyl groups in positions I and 4, respectively. The activity of a cobalt catalyst increases on adding to it 2·0 × 10−5 mole/mole salts of manganese, copper and iron.
