Nitrogen bases of 180°–360°C cuts of West Siberian crude oils
Abstract 1. A concentrate of nitrogen bases was isolated from a 180°–360°C fraction of West-Siberian crude oil and its composition examined; a molar mass distribution maximum was observed for C16–C19 compounds. 2. MS, IR- and UV spectroscopy were used to identify the following groups of nitrogen bases: alkylquinolines, cyclo- and dicycloalkylquinolines, 5,6- and 7,8- benzquinolines and cyclobenzquinolines predominate; phenanthrolines, acridines, azaindoles, azacarbazoles, benzimidazoles, dibenzimidazoles and small amounts of alkyl- and cycloalkylpyridines may be present. 3. Direct introduction of samples into the ionic source of the mass-spectrometer was preferred when analysing concentrates of nitrogen compounds from distillate fractions.
