Rate constant for the reaction of ozone with diethyl sulfide
AbstractThe rate constant for the reaction of diethyl sulfide (DES; C2H5SC2H5) with ozone was determined for the first time, which was (2.77±0.27)×10−19cm3molecule−1s−1 under a room temperature of (289±1)K. Experiments were conducted under supposedly pseudo-first-order decay conditions, keeping [DES]0>50[O3]0, but having different combinations of [DES]0 and [O3]0. Cyclohexane was added into the reactor to eliminate the effect of OH radicals. The wall decay of ozone and the role of cyclohexane were also discussed in the present work.
