Process selection for bioconversion of sugar beet pulp into microbial protein
AbstractSeveral possibilities have been tried for bioconversion of sugar beet pulp into protein rich material by a saccharification/fermentation process. A product of 48% protein content was obtained when Candida tropicalis was cultivated for 42 h at 30°C and pH 5·0, after 6 h combined action of cellulolytic and pectinolytic enzymes at 40°C and pH 4·8.
