Three dimensional layout planning
Abstract The design of the layout of a multi-storey building is a most complex task and the chances of manually achieving a design which provides a good solution in terms of the movement and inter-communication of people within the building are small. Three ways of tackling this problem were formulated and have been described. It is thought that they could, in their present state, provide help to practising designers but it is hoped in the future to integrate all aspects of the work done in Liverpool to produce a single, practical, economic and reliable approach to layout planning problems.
Résumé La conception de la disposition d'un bâtiment à étages multiples est une tâche très complexe et les chances d'obtenir manuellement une conception fournissant une bonne solution à l'égard du mouvement et de l'intercommunication de gens dans le bâtiment sont faibles. Trois façons de traiter de ce problème ont été formulées et ont été décrites ci-dessus. On peut penser que dans leur état actuel elles peuvent aider les architectes mais il est espéré dans l'avenir d'intégrer tous les aspects des travaux menés à Liverpool pour produire un abordage unique, pratique, économique et sûr des problèmes de planning.
