On dispersion in the convective boundary layer
Abstract By assuming that the dispersion time scale in the convective boundary layer is “infinite,” we have derived a simple relationship between the ground-level concentration and the probability density function of vertical velocities at source height. This formulation yields results that compare favorably with the watertank experiments of Willis and Deardorff (1978,Atmospheric Environment 12, 1305–1311).
