A mixed-mode method for analysing the buckling of partially prismatic thin-walled structures
AbstractA combined finite strip/finite element method is presented for analysing the local buckling of thin-walled prismatic beams and columns containing diaphragms. The effect of diaphragms in various positions and of varying thicknesses is considered. Finally the efficiency of the method compared with finite elements is assessed.
