Predicting failure in the airline industry with financial models
Abstract This paper reports on the development and validation of a financial model useful for predicting failure in the airline industry. A large set of variables were combined into a smaller number of independent factors based on which the model was developed. The model predicts failure much better and earlier than evidence of failure described by corporate auditors in audit opinions.
