Explicit solutions for the response of simple systems subjected to nonstationary random excitation
Abstract A new approach is presented for obtaining explicit solutions for the second-moment statistics of the response of single-degree-of-freedom systems subjected to modulated white noise excitation. The solutions depend on only three basic integrals. Explicit expressions can be found for a number of interesting cases for which these integrals can be evaluated in closed form. The method also facilitates numerical computation in cases where an explicit solution cannot be found. Some illustrative examples are presented
