Studies on air pollution from construction plants in helwan industrial area—II. Watersoluble and insoluble deposits
Abstract Dust deposits collected through a period of two years starting from June, 1976 at 24 sites in Helwan Industrial Area, about 24 km south-east of Cairo, were analysed for water-soluble and insoluble matter. The soluble fraction was analysed for calcium, chloride and sulphate, which are the three important ions usually found in water-soluble pollutants. The insoluble fraction was analysed for combustible matter, tarry matter and ash. The results obtained are presented and discussed mainly according to their variation from one district to another. Attention is also given to both monthly and annual changes in the data.
