The variations in the concentrations of airborne particulate matter with wind direction and wind speed in Denmark
Abstract A statistical investigation of the connection between wind direction and wind speed and concentrations of airborne particulate matter at different places in Denmark is briefly described. The results show that the mean concentration levels over the whole country are highest in case of southerly to southeasterly winds. In general, the mean concentrations are decreasing with increasing wind speed for most wind directions, but in southeasterly winds the mean concentrations are higher for high wind speeds than for low wind speeds.
