Abstract It was shown by liquid-phase oxidation of p-xylene in the presence of cobalt, mangenese and ruthenium compounds that the activity of the catalyst is due to its ability to maintain a high and stable rate of initiation and chain propagation and also to ist stability to undergo deactivation.
