Exploring patterns of socioeconomic residential intermixing in Tallinn
HighlightsTo investigate the patterns of residential intermixing we use a typology of tracts based on the composition of residents.We use ANOVA and discriminant analysis to examine the link between residential intermixing and the local context.Higher social groups are increasingly more segregated from the rest of the TMR’s population.The better off concentrate mostly in the city center and in the suburbs.Lower socioeconomic categories are stubbornly segregated in selected, often clustered, locations.The built-up form and demographic characteristics of tracts contribute to the patterns of residential intermixing.
