Aerobic treatment of pesticide-plant wastewater
AbstractAerobic treatment using a pesticide-plant wastewater containing a high percentage of acetate was conducted with chemostat-type reactors at ambient temperatures to investigate the degradability, chemical oxygen demand (COD) removal efficiency, and operation characteristics of the process. The influent concentration was 10 700 mg COD/liter. The reactors operated stably at the retention times of 7–30 days and the COD removal efficiencies were higher when retention times were longer. The biokinetic constants and the temperature sensitivity coefficient were determined. The results of anaerobic and aerobic treatment were also compared.
