Advanced glazing: Outdoor test room measurements, performance prediction and building thermal simulation
AbstractMethods of assessing the thermal performance of advanced glazing systems by measurement in the MoWiTT test rooms and by prediction with the WINDOW glazing simulation package are described. The glazing treatment of a whole building simulation model, SER-RES, is outlined and the limitations highlighted. Results are presented of measurements made on an advanced glazing system in the test rooms and compared with WINDOW predictions, driven with weather data recorded during the MoWiTT tests. In the light of this comparison a recommendation is made to use WINDOW as a pre-processor for SERI-RES to aid more accurate representation of advanced glazing systems.
