Long-term study of SO2 test gases in aluminum cylinders
Abstract This paper summarizes the investigations on six sulphur dioxide calibration standards in aluminum cylinders over a time period from the date of arrival in the laboratory to the date of the last analysis (2.5–3 years). The concentrations of the pressurized gases were around 0.9 mg/m3. In cycles of 4–6 weeks the cylinders were analyzed by the West-Gaeke-method. The gas mixtures showed excellent pressure and temperature stability and no appreciable change in concentration at least over the mentioned time period.
