Abstract The addition of zirconium and germanium to an alumino-platinum catalyst (atomic ratio of E/Pt being 1:2) increases its activity and selectivity for dehydrocyclization of n-hexane, apparently due to the part played in the reaction by transition metal clusters containing variable valency platinum.
