Influence of angle of inclination of schistosity planes on the geotechnical properties of a schist saprolite
Abstract The consolidation and shear strength characteristics of a schist saprolite for different inclinations of the planes of schistosity in each locality are compared. The differences in the consolidation parameters are large while the differences in the shear strength parameters varied from small to appreciable. The geotechnical implications of these differences are assessed in a terrain where the dips of the planes of schistosity vary rather unpredictably.
