A rational theory for predicting soil liquefaction
Abstract In this paper the authors propose a theory and equations that predict pore-pressure buildup and hence soil liquefaction potential under a given earthquake stress time history. A procedure is outlined for easy determination of the soil parameters that are used in the above prediction equations. Experimental data are presented that indicate good agreement between pore pressures predicted by the above theory and those observed in the laboratory.
