Agro-industrial wastes as carriers for bacterial inoculants
AbstractPeat is an ideal carrier for Rhizobium and Azotobacter, but high-quality peat is not abundantly and readily available in India. The experiments have shown the usefulness of indigenously available agro-industrial wastes such as dehydrated powdered bagasse with traces of mahua (Madhuca latifolia) cake and silk cocoon waste as substrates for the production of bioinoculants.
