Abstract A modular footing system that can be assembled and dismantled as required. For example, 5 the modular footing system can be used to provide a footing for one or more blast resistant modules (BRMs). The modular footing system includes a plurality of frames having coupling members to removably fix or attach adjacent frames to each other, wherein the plurality of frames provide at least one space able to receive or hold a block member. The plurality of frames can include at least one end frame and at least one bridge frame. The 10 block member is a mould or container for holding a liquid or granular material or is made of pig iron.
