A water trap 10 that is removably mountable to a drain pipe beneath a floor drain 5 or flor waste is disclosed. The trap 10 includes a trap housing 12 that defines a water outlet 14 through which water can exit the trap 12. The water trap 10 includes a trap downcomer 16 mounted on the trap housing 12 that defines a trap inlet 20 through which water can enter the water trap 10 and a downcomer outlet though which water exits the downcomer 16. The trap downcomer 16 interacts 10 with the trap housing 12 to define a water seal when the trap 10 is in use. The trap 10 also includes a flexible seal 26 mounted on the housing 12 and projecting radially away therefrom for engaging an inner surface of the drain pipe for mounting the trap housing 12 thereto. The flexible seal 26 extends around the full circumferential extent of the trap housing. The trap 10 is capable of being 15 manually accessed through a floor waste and of being manually removed from its mounting to the drain pipe to facilitate maintenance and replacement as required.
